Reboot.fm is described as « a software project that works with the social and political aspects of open source tools and free content and expands them into the arena of cultural production. » Attached to this project is the idea to create an « open radio license which would set a legal standard for peer-to-peer program syndication ». The initiators of reboot.fm will present their project and the Constant's webradio will relay the first reboot.fm try out.

reboot.fm is a project by bootlab.org, funded by kulturstiftung des bundes.

reboot.fm is a software project that works with the social and political aspects of open source tools and free content and expands them into the arena of cultural production, releasing a digital radio toolkit in 2004. an 'open radio license' sets a legal standard for peer-to-peer program syndication; the goal is to amplify decentralized production and exchange
of audio content between independent radios.

reboot.fm broadcasts 24/7 for a 100 days in early 2004 in berlin, inviting a variety of local and international contributions.

tune in to the ongoing debate about free FM formats, online audio distribution, and the mess of licenses and copyright, through the reboot.fm weblog, to be launched in late October.
